Today's Make Something Monday is super cute and super cheap!
Today we are making a Mickey Head Countdown chain.
I made one for our last trip and the kids had such a blast taking a link off everyday.
Supplies needed:
Construction Paper ($1 from the dollar store) or Card-stock ($8.99 from Amazon)
Glue Sticks $2.91
Scissors will work but a Paper Cutter will be much easier $16.18
Glue Sticks $2.91

Markers are optional
First cut your paper on the width edge. My construction paper was 9x12, so I cut 1inx9in strips. You will need 2 per Mickey.
Once you have all your strips cut, cut half of the strips in half. You will have one stack of what will be Mickey heads (1inx9in), and one stack of what will be Mickey ears (1inx4.5in).
Take two small strips and roll them into circles. Glue them to the edge of a long strip. I went ahead and wrote the date on each link. I don't know about you, but I wasn't looking forward to figuring out how many were left if we missed a day (or 4). Make all of these before you start assembling the chain.
Once you have made them all you can assemble the chain.
If you are really feeling crafty you can add in the rest of the gang too!
Mickey:
Follow the same instructions only using all black paper
Minnie:
Same as Mickey, but add a bow.
Donald:
Goofy:
Pluto:
When linking these together I like to put a neutral spacer between each one. This will give your eye a break between each character and also ensure that each will lay flat so you can see what they are.
Enjoy!
So cute!!! I like the Mickey and Minnie combination the best!!!
