Make Something Monday- First Trip Bunting

We're going to Disney for the first time!!!

Well, we aren't but some of you are. I had such a great time making this festive bunting. It would make a great decoration for your resort window! It was is so easy to transport {it can be folded flat and stuck in your planning binder} and super cheap to make.

Supplies Needed:
Disney Scrapbook Paper- $9.99
Glue Sticks- $2.91
Cardboard or a cereal box {something to make a stencil out of}
Yarn, ribbon, or string

I mean seriously, this is super easy. First figure out what you want to say. I chose "our first trip!". including spaces in between letters I needed 19 flags. The amount of spaces worked out perfectly. The stack of scrapbook paper that I suggested comes with one page with each character on it {You'll see what I mean in a bit}. Cut a template for your flags out of the cardboard. Make sure that the top is no longer than 6 inches. Use your template to trace and cut out as many flags as you need. Next cut one 1x12 inch strips for as many flags as you have. You will need one 1x6 inch strip and two 3x1 inch strips per flag.

For the spacers I cut out a character in place of a letter.

Fold the tabs in half glue them on to the flag. Next glue on the topper.

Flip the flag over and trim off the excess. This is easier to do from the back as apposed to the front.

Next cut out all of your letters and any embellishments you like. Glue those on to the front and you're done!

I used a black sharpie to draw on a faux saddle stitch. When you are threading the flags on make sure to work right to left. Also, if you are using yarn it is helpful to tie it to a paper clip. This acts as a needle and makes it easier to thread through the tabs.

You can hang them in your resort window with command hooks. Make sure you leave a lot of spare yarn or ribbon and pack it with you. You may need to change some things around when you arrive.

You can spell out so many great things! "Happy Birthday" "Just Married" "We're Engaged!"

The possibilities are endless!
